| Oren Lavie is a songwriter, playwright, writer of books for children. He has written and produced his debut album ‘The Opposite Side of The Sea’ which was released in the US in 2009 on his own label, A Quarter Past Wonderful. Maverick UK Magazine describes the album in a 4 star review “… A cinematic album of magical qualities and hidden meaning.” His music video for the song ‘Her Morning Elegance’, produced and codirected by Oren, became an international sensation with over 18 million hits on youtube to date. In December 2009 The video was nominated for a Grammy award for Best Music Video. It was screened at the Cannes Lion festival, LA film festival, SXSW, to name a few. The song ‘Her Morning Elegance’ first became known when featured in a Chevrolet TV commercial. Oren has won the prestigious ASCAP Foundation Award for promising lyricist 2009. His song “A Dance ‘Round The Memory Tree” was featured in the Disney film “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.” He has won several international scholarships and awards as a playwright and director. As a playwright-director his work was produced in London’s Off-West End and NY off-Broadway. Oren is currently working on a new book for children and a new album. |
